With two previous ‘#1 Cigar of the Year’ titles from Cigar Aficionado for the 97-rated My Father Le Bijou 1922 and the 96-rated Flor de las Antillas, the Garcia family continues a tradition of growing, aging, and blending premium tobaccos that is second to none. Legendary cigar-maker Jose ‘Pepin’ Garcia and his son, Jaime Garcia, deliver tremendous flavor in My Father La Gran Oferta with an oily Cuban-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador and an aged interior of all-Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. A medium to full-bodied profile reveals marvelously balanced spices in conjunction with wood, leather, and molasses notes. La Gran Oferta translates to ‘the great offer’ which was originally the name of a cigar brand made many decades ago. Intricate artwork on the boxes and the bands reflects the old-world look of the original brand. The blend is available in a handful of classic shapes handmade at the renowned My Father factory in EstelÃ, Nicaragua.
